Robinson Helicopter Company (RHC) has had a busy spring. The May 2026 edition of the RHC Network News — distributed to RHC’s global dealer and service center network — is packed with new programs, product launches, operational improvements, and important policy updates. Here’s everything general aviation enthusiasts and Robinson owners need to know.

Improvements Underway: Parts, Warranty, and Response Times

RHC has been transparent about areas where it has historically faced criticism — particularly around parts delivery and responsiveness. The May 2026 update shows measurable progress:

Parts & Orders

  • Outstanding orders reduced by 70%
  • 94% reduction in AOG situations, with AOG orders now shipping within 24 hours
  • Overhaul Kits lead times: R22/R44 at 13 weeks, R66 down to 4 weeks
  • Main Rotor Blades at their shortest lead time in six months
  • All Stabilizers now under 5 weeks

Engine Supply

  • RR300 engine deliveries from Rolls-Royce increasing week over week
  • Impeller lead times and supply chain constraints being addressed weekly

Warranty & Core

  • Core credits adjudicated within 30 days
  • Warranty adjudication now under 14 days
  • All outstanding warranty items older than April 2026 have been closed
  • Two new team members added to support core volume
  • New warranty manual planned for late Q2 with more customer-friendly terms

Speed of Response

RHC has reorganized its teams for clearer ownership and faster communication. Customers can now expect:

  • Customer and Technical Support responses within 24 business hours
  • AOG responses within four business hours
  • Weekly status updates for open orders

RHC also reaffirmed its position as the only helicopter manufacturer offering free, open access to all technical publications.

New Products and Programs

R44 Utility Interior

Robinson has introduced the R44 Utility — a purpose-built interior package designed for high-use, demanding missions. Targeting operators who need a workhorse rather than a showpiece, the Utility trim features:

  • TitanPlate Headliner
  • Durable Backwall
  • Washable, Heavy-Duty Seating
  • Removable, Rubberized Floor Mats
  • Tactical Accents
  • Signature Paint Scheme and Next-Gen LED Lighting (exterior)

The R44 Utility is expected to be available in Q3 2026, alongside the R44 Life Extension and R66 NxG Certification.

Trade-In Program

RHC has launched a formal Trade-In Program for current Robinson helicopter owners. The program lets owners trade in a timed-out aircraft for credit toward a brand-new Robinson helicopter — offering an alternative to a costly overhaul or extended downtime.

How it works:

  • Owners submit digital photos and logbooks for review
  • The airframe and engine must be in airworthy condition
  • RHC provides a written offer with a trade-in value within 14 business days
  • Credit can be applied toward a deposit or final payment on a new aircraft
  • New aircraft purchase must be completed within 60 business days of credit issuance

Lightspeed Zulu 4 Headset

Robinson customers can now add the Lightspeed Zulu 4 headset at the time of aircraft order or at any point during ownership for $1,150 USD. The Zulu 4 features an ergonomic around-the-ear cup design and award-winning Active Noise Reduction (ANR) technology.

Cores Critically Needed Back From the Field

RHC has put out an urgent call to service centers: core returns are needed. As of April 9, 2026, overhaul parts were temporarily unavailable for standard orders while RHC works through core availability constraints.

Parts critically needed include main rotor gearboxes, clutches, actuators, tail rotor gearboxes, swashplates, fanwheels, hydraulic reservoirs, servos, and pumps across multiple model variants. Service centers are asked to return any outstanding cores at their earliest convenience.

Parts Shipments: Partial Shipments and New Return Policy

RHC is now sending partial shipments on high-volume, space-intensive components — including tailbooms, main rotor blades, main transmissions, and upper frames — as they become available. The company is also evaluating a transition to direct freight control to eliminate third-party forwarding delays.

Return policy highlights:

  • Only parts shipped directly from the RHC factory are eligible for returns
  • Overhaul Parts: must be returned within 120 days of shipment date for credit
  • Overhaul Kits: must be returned within 9 months of shipment date for credit
  • Restocking fees apply: 5% (0-30 days), 20% (31-60 days), 30% (61-90 days)

RHC has also moved all Tip-N-Tell indicators to the interior of blade crates to prevent them from being removed or falling off during transit. Any visible activation upon delivery should be documented and reported immediately.

RHC at AirVenture Oshkosh 2026

Robinson Helicopter Company and Vertical Aviation International (VAI) are co-sponsoring the new Vertical Lift Center at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, running July 20–26, 2026. Robinson will be present across Aviation Gateway Park, the helicopter display area, and the AeroEducate Booth near Boeing Plaza.

Robinson is also sponsoring AeroEducate, a program designed to introduce youth under 18 to careers in vertical lift — addressing what the company calls an urgent need for new pilots, engineers, and A&P mechanics.
